"All Those Leftovers!"
TEENS AND ADULTS
LAURIE KATHLEEN CLARK
Thursday, December 5th
1:00-3:30 PM PST
Class Details: This is the season of leftovers. Do you have family favorite ways to use them up, delightful dishes almost better than there first role in the feast of a holiday? Do you faithfully prepare your mother's green bean casserole every year, or are you of the "Turducken" vibe? I love the "mashups" where two dishes, seemingly at odds with one another, become one and play nicely together, where sweet potatoes and cranberries become a spectacular breakfast, and turkey finds new life as an ingredient in a biscuit smothered in leftover gravy. Those fun little surprise combinations are the inspiration for this class where we will create our own mashups of cooking, recipes and art supplies. Of course, I am not advocating for an art supply stew but let's have some fun creating a page of our favorite recipes, food and kitchen décor or holiday table in our sketchbooks.
Before class you will receive a zip file of complimentary clip art with vintage kitchen images and fun printable mixed media papers to bring to class. You will also receive a list of supplies to make the culinary art playdate more fun, but just bring your favorite sketchbook supplies for this anything goes project. This class will begin with a quick overview and inspiration to get you started, a mini live demo that will equip you to create your own delicious food layout staring your favorite holiday dish. You will receive the zoom recording after class in case you need to revisit some portion of the live class, but most students will be able to complete their project in class. The zoom recording will be available for at least a month after the class. So gather your favorite recipes and join us.
